Cricket World Cup Betting – Pakistan

Pakistan come into the tournament as sixth favourites for the title with Bet365 making Pakistan’s Odds at 9.00. They are in turmoil at the moment thanks to being stripped of their co-hosting rights for this competition due to the terror attacks in Lahore last year and having had three of their best players handed lengthy bans for spot fixing. Will they bounce back and show the world what they are made of?
Pakistan have had few good moments at the World Cup, but they have reached the final on two occasions, taking the crown in 1992 against England but they were also beaten by eight wickets against Australia in the 1999 final. Last time around was awful for Pakistan as they were beaten by Ireland and found their coach dead the next morning and failed to progress from the group as a result of that loss.
They are a team in transition and are bringing several new players through the ranks to bolster the likes of Shahid Afridi and Younis Khan and with three of their brightest bowlers being banned they may struggle in the tournament. They were poor throughout most of 2010 and only managed one series win over New Zealand in decent end to the year that had seen them lose all of their first seven matches.
How will they do though? With all that has gone on we cannot see them going far in the tournament, but with three weaker teams in their group in Kenya, Canada and Zimbabwe we can see them at least reaching the Quarter Finals. How they do there will depend upon their opponents, but we are not optimistic.
Betting on sports fixtures can be compared to playing blackjack at a casino. Gamblers need to have paid attention to what has gone before.
